Unrated sections: These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. If a player has some rated experience, the maximum allowable rating is 300. If a player with a rating (300, or below) chooses to play in an unrated section, the tournament organizer still reserves the right to review the player’s tournament history and move the player into a rated section. This decision may not be appealed.
Prizes: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in 4 round sections.

NEW ENTRY FEE STRUCTURE
The entry fees for the last two deadlines are significantly higher than previous years. (The first two deadlines are the same as last year.)The goal is to encourage people to enter earlier, which makes planning much easier for US Chess.IMPORTANT: No entries will be accepted onsite. This includes last-minute “player swaps”. Also, no entries will be accepted online after 11am Eastern time, December 14.
13 Sections: Play only in your Grade.
December rating supplement will be used.

Up to two 1/2 point byes available any round if requested before round 1.
A half-point bye in round 1 must be requested at the time of registration, or on-site before 11 AM Friday.
A half-point bye request for rounds 2-7 not requested in advance must be requested two hours before the scheduled start of round 2.
Players registering after 11 AM Friday will not be paired for round 1, will receive a half-point bye, and will begin play with round 2.
Players requesting a section change late (after 11 AM Friday) will not be paired for round 1, will receive a half-point bye, and will begin play with round 2.
A Team must have at least two players, although no maximum of players. The top three scores in any section will count for the team score. All players on a team must come from the same school.
First place individual and team in each grade level, including ties, will be National Champion for their grade.
US Chess membership current through December 2023 is required.
Time Control: Game/90 d10 (each player has 90 minutes to complete the game with a 10 second grace period each move)
Entry Fee: $80 if registered or postmarked by Nov. 20, $100 if registered or postmarked by Nov. 27, $130 by Dec. 4, $180 until 11am 12/14. NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. NO REGISTRATION BY PHONE. ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES 11AM EASTERN, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14. Do not mail anything after November 27.
$40 change fee for roster or section changes after Dec. 4 or on site changes.
No “player swaps” on site! If a player is withdrawing, you will be refunded the full entry fee, so long as the player is withdrawn before 11am Friday, December 15.

Masks are optional but encouraged. Do not attend if experiencing symptoms. Please maintain good “health etiquette” — wash your hands frequently, cover sneezes and coughs, etc. Parent or designate must be present to assert parental supervision over your child’s behavior and activities.

This decision may not be appealed.

Schedule:
The first round begins at 4pm. K through 3rd grade sections end around 7:45 pm. Other sections finish around 8:30 pm. The next round will begin as soon as possible after the previous round ends.
Awards:
Premier Quads prize: Free entry (value $50) into Marshall or G & T Quads. Other sections: Trophies to top 15 in each section. Honored Participant trophies to everyone else. Award ceremonies as soon as possible after each section concludes.
Important:
We are a nut free tournament! Please do not bring nuts or nut-containing items.
Masks are optional but encouraged. Do not attend if experiencing symptoms. Please maintain good “health etiquette” — wash your hands frequently, cover sneezes and coughs, etc. Parent or designate must be present to assert parental supervision over your child’s behavior and activities.
Little House of Chess, Inc does not provide supervision when a child has finished a scheduled game.

There are currently NO COVID requirements in place for players. However, masking is recommended inside the building. Adults or other accompanying persons are being asked to show vaccination card or Cleared4 pass.
Registration closes on Friday, June 2 at 5:00 pm. Sections may sell out before this time. There is NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION for this event.
By registering online, you will not need to check. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the posted pre-tournament pairing list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error.

**USCF-rated, except where noted. Bring clocks and score pads. (Unrated sections do not require clocks; notation is recommended but not required.) Chess sets are provided for all sections except Future Masters.
Ratings: Rated section use published rating unless parent emails hunterchess@gmail.com and/or puts a note in registration page requesting Current MSA Rating be used.
Unrated sections: These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. If a player has some rated experience, the maximum allowable rating is 300. If a player with a rating (300, or below) chooses to play in an unrated section, the tournament organizer still reserves the right to review the player’s tournament history and move the player into a rated section. This decision may not be appealed.
Prizes: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in 4 round sections.
